Tropical treats!

I love juicy tropical and Mediterranean fruit that spills down your chin as you bite in!

Pineapples, mangos, peaches and plums are big favourites.  They're so lusciously rich and succulent that it always seems like a big treat to eat them.

But it can seem an awful lot of fuss and bother to cut them up.  It doesn't really take very long to get the prickles off the pineapple or the stones out of the mangos.  It just sometimes seems like fuss when I am in a hurry.

So it's great that there is so much tasty canned fruit available these days.  Lots of supermarkets sell can of pineapples, pears, peaches, apricots, grapefruit, mandarin, mangos and even little lychees plus wonderful fruit cocktails.  But I don't like the stuff in syrup. The fruit is so much yummier in it's own juice.

Now I have no excuse for not treating myself to something scrumptiously juicy for breakfast or a quick dessert.

Note to self:
Enjoy a tropical treat even when you're in a hurry.
Did you know? Canned fruit in its own juice is almost as good for us as fresh fruit and counts as one of our five a day.
